Pedal power motion fans may visit attractions of a wider area by bicycle. The area of Jasenice Municipality is for cycling fans one of the most beautiful ones in Zadar County. Riding on Majstorska road is breathtaking, as well as cycling ascent to Tulove grede.

It is pure enjoyment of fresh and clean air, unforgettable sights of Zadar hinterland and archipelago from more than 1000 metres of height. At the foot of Tulove Grede starts new adventure cycling descent down the slopes of Velebit until the first rest stop – little chapel and one of the most beautiful viewpoints on this path. The chapel was erected in honour of one of Croatian War of Independence heroes - Damir Tomljanović Gavran – Commander of the legendary Tigers (military unit).
Soon after follows the stop at the second section of descent near the boulder that surpasses the road. The path continues toward the St. Francis church, built by Austrian Emperor Francis I (Franz Joseph I of Austria) to honour the newly built Majstorska road, first at the time that connected continental Croatia with Dalmatia. The next destination is childhood home of Luka Modrić, best European and World soccer player in 2018 and one of the lead role players in the famous Real Madrid football club. The path continues as an asphalt road to the belvedere of the magnificent canyon of Zrmanja River. This is the location of many scenes of the movie about Apache Chief Winnetou, the main character of the Karl May novel.

Undersea world of Velebit canal is interesting for sea sightseeing and exploring, so we definitely recommend diving below the sea surface.
The most attractive locations are in the vicinity of Jasenice, as well near the Pag and Maslenica bridges. Underwater hillsides and verts with abundance of fish, colourful sponges, stingers, sea slugs, octopuses, flocks of smaller fish and examples of big sponges, await on you, as well as the wreck of the old bridge and also a Russian ship from 70’s of the past Century to which will dare to dive the most experienced divers.

Slow hiking by the river is a fantastic way to spend a day fused with nature. If you love nature you have to see this “not to be missed” landscape and enjoy amazing views of the canyon.

The Creation of its today's famous appearance lasted thousands of years. Precisely, it all started at the completion of the ice age when the ice had melted and sea level rose. Together with the flow of the Zrmanja River made this beautiful child, known for a white rocks contrast, green river, picturesque flora and waterfalls that take your breath away. While enjoying a crystal clean sea and your sight is taken away by Velebit Mountain and Tulove grede above, it is hard to believe that those two are responsible for the surprising splendour of natural pebble beaches in the Jasenice Municipality.

Mountain Velebit, protected because of its outstanding nature’s values and biodiversity partly belongs to the Jasenice Municipality.

Out of the impressive 203551,12 ha which is the total amount of Velebit protected area surface, 8 270,28 ha is a part of the Jasenice Municipality area, representing 4,10 % of total protected area. Velebit is included in UNESCO's World Network of Biosphere Reserves.

From the southern side of Tulove grede there is a beautiful sink-hole Dolac, one of locations where, during the 60’s, based on the novels of Karl May, series of movies about Winnetou were filmed.
Tulove grede and surrounding sinkholes were scenery of American Wild West and many admirers of the legendary German Western films even today are regular visitors of Velebit.
Tulove grede is known as the mountain where Chief Winnetou died. After the death of the actor Pierre Brice who portrayed the first and most popular Chief Winnetou in the series, his widow spread his ashes on this magnificent peak.

Majstorska road is the most beautiful mountain road in Croatia, offering spectacular views on the peaks of Velebit Mountain, Zadar hinterland and the sea. It was built in the 19th century. In total, it is 41 km long and was the first road connecting Croatian North and South.

Canyon of Zrmanja River is an untouched piece of land. The best way to reach the canyon is over Jasenice (direction Obrovac), a couple of kilometres east of Maslenica. As well, among others, this was a movie location for the Native American Chief Winnetou movies.

To the location of Pueblo plato (Pariževačka glavica) one gets by taking the road in Jasenice towards Obrovac. After passing through Jasenice village the way turns right on an unpaved road which leads to a small plateau, at the very edge of the imposing canyon of Zrmanja River, or Rio Pecos- Zrmanja’s name in the movie. This location was the Indian village – homeland of Apache chief Winnetou. Winnetou (Pierre Brice) and Old Shatterhand (Lex Barker) became blood brothers. From the plateau there is an amazing view on the sharply cut canyon of the Zrmanja River which will remain indelibly in memory of each visitor. Exact movie locations on the river can be seen during organized boat excursions, starting from Maslenica. With impressive rocks emerging from the river, right after its estuary starts a canoe scene of Old Shatterhand and Intschu-tschuna. The scene ends about 2 km up the river, next to an impressive boulder on the right side. That is the location of the scenes with old Shatterhand’s attempt to reach the totem pole and spectacular bandit ride on a raft on a burning river Rio Pecos.

Very seldom, a contemporary Croatian bridge had such an unusual destiny like this bridge over Maslenica gorge, that carries the name Maslenica Bridge or lately, very often Old Maslenica Bridge, so it could be distinguished from a new concrete bridge, not far away, a part of the highway Zagreb – Split.

Almost everybody, and this will doubtless remain, considered Maslenica Bridge the most beautiful one in Croatia. Especially for its perfect fit into the stingy rocky ground, where the vegetation has a rare presence. Actually, it was and remained some kind of Croatian cultural good – a monument of contemporary architectural Croatian heritage. The Old Maslenica Bridge, now being part of the regional road instead of a highway, has significantly less traffic than its neighbor New Maslenica bridge. But for those who drive along our coast, love to enjoy beauty rather than speed, it is an important destination. Because of significantly less traffic than it had in its “first life”, because now, it is out of the main traffic trajectory, probably, once a nice motel above the bridge will never be renovated. It is certain this bridge during the strong bora (NE wind) times shields travellers better than its much bigger twin brother.
