Welcome to the area of Jasenice Municipality perfect for a true vacation and relaxation from everyday stress. The Municipality Jasenice consists of three villages: Maslenica, Rovanjska, Zaton Obrovački and small hamlet Modrič. Due to the proximity of the highway Zagreb – Split, airport of Zadar, two imposing bridges over the gorge of Novigrad Sea, quality accommodation, this place becomes a more required tourist destination. Through the territory of Jasenice Municipality goes a 24 kilometre long road section of famous and historical Majstorska cesta over Podprag, Prag and Kraljičina vrata to Mali Alan where it continues on the Lika side of the mountain of Velebit to Sveti Rok. Today, this road over Tulove grede is a unique panoramic road, the most beautiful mountain road from which at the same unfold beautiful views on spectacular shapes of awe-inspiring rocks Tula, the sea and the hinterland of Zadar, as well. The landscape of Prag is known for a strong SE wind Bora (Bura), at times reaching a hurricane force.

Jasenice

Jasenice is located in the southern part of the Velebit sub-mountains. Today, they consist of a couple of separate hamlets originating from old ones belonging to Jasenice – Modrič, Rovanjska, Maslenica and Jasenice.

Maslenica

The village of Maslenica thanks its name to hundred years old olive groves (maslina=olive) cultivated on its coast. Olives are one of the most significant natural symbols of this village, a reflection of the past times and activity of its inhabitants.

Rovanjska

Beautiful Rovanjska is situated in the bay at the very end of Velebit sub-mountains channel, near the town of Zadar.

Zaton Obrovački

Zaton Obrovački belongs both to Jasenice Municipality and Zadar County, situated 1 kilometre north-west from Obrovac. In more recent times Zaton Obrovački became renowned for two celebrated Croatian national team soccer players. Both Dado Pršo and Luka Modrić families originate from this little village.

SAZNAJTE VIŠE

Modrič

Modrič is located only 2 km west of Rovanjska. It is the most western part of our Municipality and starting point for the mountaineers when they are up to climb Sveto brdo (Holly hill), second highest peak of Velebit Mountain with 1.752 metres.
